- Title
USCIS Issues Vital Fact Sheet to Protect Foreign Brides From Abuse.
- Authors
Heiman, Heather M.
- Abstract
The article provides information on the development of a fact sheet by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for foreign brides in the U.S. It mentions that the fact sheet alerts women who are reflecting to immigrate as foreign brides in the U.S. to look close and long before immigrating. The fact sheet of the USCIS emerged from the 2006 International Marriage Broker Regulation Act, which offers potential brides with information and disclosure, such as the criminal background and marital history of the potential groom, needed to permit them to enter into a risky scenario with open eyes.
