- Abstract
The article discusses the motivations, contributions, and implications of learning Portuguese as an Additional Language (PLA) by Colombian university students. The results showed that the motivations for learning Portuguese are both personal and professional, with an interest in getting closer to the language and cultures of Brazil and Portugal, as well as opening doors to academic and professional opportunities. Based on these results, a pedagogical approach is proposed that promotes interculturality and content production through portfolios. Learning Portuguese at university contributes to academic formation, expands research and exchange possibilities, and improves communication skills with different audiences.
