- Abstract
In order to meet the requirements of thermal insulation and one-way mo1sture-transfer property of outdoor sportswear in spring and autumn, pure wool knitted fabrics with one-way moisturetransfer function was developed from the perspective of structural design according to the mechanism of the asymmetric wettability gradient and the gap gradient reduction. The hydrophilic differentiation of wool was achieved through water-proof treatment and cold plasma treatment. The asymmetric wettability gradient was achieved through different blended ratio of wool with different hydrophilicity and watersoluble PVA was distributed in the veil, binding and base yarn of double knit, the gap gradient reduction of fabric from inside to outside was achieved by the hydrolysis of PVA y and. the one-way moi sture - trans fer function of fabric was improved. The results show that the water contact angle of w at er -r ep ell ent wool was up to 126°, the mercerized wool treated with cold plasma was down to 34°, the hydrophilic difference between the two kinds of wool is obvious. The evaporation rate of the fabric of pure wool with, one-way moisture-transfer is 0. 61 g/h, the one-way transfer index can reach 635. 6%, the prepared, fabric has excellent qiiick drying and one-way moisture-transfer function.
