- Abstract
The article presents a study on styrene and butyl methacrylate copolymers and their application in leather finishing. The study synthesized polystyrene (PSty) and poly(butyl methacrylate) (PBMA), applied them in different ratios to leather surfaces and evaluated the coated leather mechanically, physically and thermally, comparing the results to those for uncoated leather. Results show improvements in tensile strength and elongation for the coated leather as butyl methacrylate content increased.
