- Abstract
The article offers a comparative analysis of the social thought of Chicago activist social worker Jane Addams and Russian nobleman and anarchist Petr Kropotkin in conversations held in the early 1900s. It attempts to uncover the substance of those conversations based on their writings in their books concerning politics and moral development, namely, "Democracy and Social Ethics" and "Mutual Aid." It explores the views of both Addams and Kropotkin on Charles Darwin's theory of evolution and how this shaped their opinions on religion, ethics and politics.
