- Abstract
The relationship media and children in communicationstudies is an issue that takes place in thecontext of the protection of children in and from the media and leads to long-term discussions. Recently, the fact that social media platforms, which have become widespread with the emergence of new communication technologies and increase their preferability daybyday, are used by children as well as adults, has brought the issue of protecting children from social media. These platforms, which legitimize the capitalist system and ensure the continuation of this system, negatively affect the consumption habits of children who are yet conscious consumers and cause them to be sold to advertisers as a commodity. In this direction, the aim of the study is to determine the consumption content elements in the videos of Kidfluencers, who are both content producers and consumers on YouTube. As a result of the research; it was concluded at the video covers of theKidfuencers examined included 84% consumption visuals, 64% shopping, 12% consumption oriented life elements such as luxury houses and cars and 26% advertisement. In order to increase the click through rate of the videos, it is determined that consumption oriented products are included in the videos covers and contents.
