- Abstract
The article explores the history and growth of broadcasting in the commonwealth of the Bahamas from 1930 to 1993. Broadcasting in the Bahamas begun in 1930 with the launch of the experimental station V1-BAX. Since then, the broadcasting sector presented stories, information, entertainment and images that have characterized the Bahamas and its people. It was in 1937 that the British government introduced a permanent broadcasting in the Bahamas. According to the author, broadcasting has served as an information network that connects all the elements of the Bahamian society.
