- Abstract
In this paper, genetic algorithms are used for optimization of welded joints cross-section as an objective function with respect to design variables in a specified range. The results from genetic algorithm are compared with analytical results. Designing welded joint is complex in nature. The solution of such problems with traditional calculation techniques such as using trial and error is quite long process. In this study, the results indicated that genetic algorithms can be used efficiently for the optimum design of welded joints.
