The article highlights a study in which serum Cystatin C will be able to predict the progression of coronary atherosclerosis in type 1 diabetes patients. The authors hypothesized that in people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) Cystatin C would be able to predict progression of coronary artery calcification (CAC), than serum creatinine.
