- Abstract
The article discusses a bribery and money-laundering scheme in Ohio, where FirstEnergy paid $61 million in bribes to politicians and others to secure favorable legislation. The scheme involved the passage of a bill that provided a $1.3 billion bailout to FirstEnergy's failing nuclear and coal plants.
