- Title
Applied physics and interfaces: Positively 'negative' friction.
- Authors
Wahl, Kathryn J.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the behavior of friction in lamellar material graphite. It mentions that the graphite surface is modified so that the tip-surface interaction is stickier than the interlamellar bonding. It states that a deformation mechanism which links the adhesion-dominated friction with the exfoliation energy of graphite is created by molecular dynamics simulations and finite element modelling. It further states that in this condition friction increases as applied load decreases.
