The article reports that by combining electrochemical templating and photolithographic patterning, complex patterns can now be made on nanostructures over large areas with critical dimensions well below 100 nm. The technique can make substrate-supported, continuous polycrystalline metal nanowires with thicknesses and widths as small as 20 nm and in complex shapes.
