- Abstract
The article discusses a case study of a 12-year-old boy who suffered a dislocated clavicle in the sternoclavicular joint while playing football. Computed tomography evaluation of the dislocation was performed, which showed compression of the left common carotid artery by the clavicle. The patient was transferred to a medical center with cardiothoracic facilities where his clavicle was successfully relocated. The authors recommend that the risk of secondary damage to central vessels should be considered in such injuries to avoid complications.
