- Abstract
The study of a new organic-inorganic hybrid ferroelectric material based on kaolinite has important theoretical and practical significance. Kaolinite/2-pyrazinecarboxylie acid intercalation compound was prepared in an autoclave with the heterocyclic compound 2-pyrazinecarboxylic acid as the guest. The product was characterized by XRD, TR and TG and its ferroelectric property was tested, and the possible intercalation structure was optimized by CASTE 15 program calculation. The results show that, depending on the selfpressurization of the system, 2-pyrazinecarboxylic acid molecules can be inserted between kaolinite layers at 16() °C for 10 h, and the interlayer spacing is enlarged to 1.39 nm, with an intercalation rate of 42.73%. Guest molecules are oriented between kaolinite layers in an almost vertical manner. The intercalation compound exhibits room temperature ferroelectricity and certain thermal stability (〈1()() °C).
