- Abstract
The article examines the role of health insurance and hospital ownership on the hospital length of stay among patients with ambulatory care-sensitive conditions (ACSCs) and risk for mortality in the U.S. The author stress that the problem of providing health to the U.S. population should be a major policy concern. They emphasize that clinicians should treat all patients equally no matter what type of health insurance is being provided for services.
