- Abstract
The article reports on the result of the study conducted by Ashkenazi and colleagues regarding caspase-8 activation that triggers cell apoptosis. It states that caspase-8 is known to be recruited by its death effector domains (DEDs) to activated death receptors (DRs) to form death-induced signaling complex (DISC). The researchers found that caspase-8 becomes polyubiquitinated (polyUb), a modification to its activation, upon DR activation. Details on the role of polyUb caspase-8 are also offered.
