- Abstract
The article presents the author's views on laws concerning the enlistment of Internet intermediaries as proxy censors in the U.S. The author is concerned about the risks related to free expression that may arise from attempts to target weak links in the chain of Internet communications. He refers to the USA PATRIOT Act that authorizes Internet service providers to disclose information related to electronic transactions to law enforcement authorities in order to avoid any serious injury.
