The article focuses on the insurer's use of dead air to damage the credibility of the insured before the eyes of the arbitrator. It states that dead air would challenge the constitutional sufficiency of uninsured motorists (UM) arbitration procedures. It discusses the nature and characteristics of UM coverage, its common policy terms and the ethical issues that lawyers and arbitrators face in the UM context.
