- Abstract
Examines the circulating antibodies and hemolytic plaques in mice that were given various quantities of the capsular polysaccharide of Diplococcus pneumoniae type III (SIII). Use of a plaque method to count the cells forming the hemolytic type of anti-SIII antibody in mouse spleens; Claim that plaque-forming cells were found under certain conditions when hemolytic antibody was not apparent in the serum; Suggestion that primary immune responses in vitro were demonstrated with normal mouse spleen cells treated with SIII.
