- Abstract
This article discusses the potential for targeted therapy in gynecological cancers, specifically focusing on ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC). OCCC is a high-grade adenocarcinoma that is often diagnosed in younger women and has a poorer prognosis compared to other types of ovarian cancer. The article highlights the presence of specific genomic alterations in OCCC and explores the potential use of immune checkpoint inhibitors and PARP inhibitors as treatment options. Additionally, the article discusses the role of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) in OCCC and the need for standardized testing and scoring of HER2 status to guide targeted therapy. The authors conclude that further research is needed to optimize strategies for identifying HER2 status and to develop more effective treatment options for OCCC.
