- Abstract
A questionnaire survey has been conducted among 935 kindergarten teachers in Beijing to in- vestigate their competency level in health education and the influencing factors, reveal their health education training needs, and provide an empirical evidence for pre-service training and post-service training of preschool education. The result shows that the competency level in health education of kindergarten teachers in Beijing is moderate, among which the score of the implementation of infant health education is the highest, and the score of the evaluation of infant health education is the lowest. Multi-factor regression analysis finds that age, educational background, job transfer, willingness to teach and kindergarten level are the important factors affecting the kindergarten teachers' competency in health education, and that “age≤30", “non- preschool major", “job transfer", “non-active choice" and “non-first-grade kindergartens" are the risk factors affecting the kindergarten teachers' competency level in health education. In the future, it is necessary to strengthen the systematic learning of children's health knowledge and theory and practical ability exercise in the pre-service training of pre-school teachers, attach importance to hierarchical design and implementing it through diversified ways in the post-service training of pre-school teachers, give full play to the function of kindergarten-based teaching and research, construct a teacher development community, and do research on health education based on the realistic demands to effectively and rapidly improve the kindergarten teachers' competency in health education.
