- Abstract
A new iridium(III) nitroso complex [Ir(NO)(AcOH)(AcO)2(NO2)2] is obtained in the interaction of the iridium(III) triaquatrinitro complex with acetic anhydride. The salt structure is analyzed by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). Crystallographic data: a = 14.4207(5) Å, b = 13.4561(4) Å, c = 6.7205(2) Å, space group Pnma, Z = 4, ρcal = 2.508 g/cm3. In the crystal structure, molecules of the complex are on mirror planes, and the coordination polyhedron is a distorted octahedron. In the nitroso ligand, Ir–N and N–O bond lengths are 1.779(9) Å and 1.13(1) Å respectively, and the Ir–N–O angle is 170.2(9)°. The powder XRD analysis shows that the product is single-phase, and the presence of the nitroso group and organic ligands in the composition of the compound is confirmed by IR spectroscopy. The obtained compound is unstable when stored in air and undergoes hydrolysis in contact with moisture. Hydrolysis is accompanied by a loss of the nitroso group and organic ligands.
