- Abstract
The article cites a study on the acute toxic effects of Neem-based insecticides on Crustaceans. Like insects, crustaceans are classified as Arthopoda. There is little information regarding the toxic effects of neem-based pesticides on aquatic crustaceans. Acute lethal effects of the neem-based pesticides on the five crustacean species and the mosquito larvae were determined in static non-renewal acute toxicity tests. The result suggests that toxicity of neem products Neemix and Bioneem to crayfish resulted from other formulation components, other components from neem, or from synergistic effects of the formulation components that enhanced the toxicity.
