- Abstract
The study aims to investigate the relationships among principals' authentic leadership, teachers' trust and teachers' organizational citizenship behavior. It further examines the effect of moderation of teachers' trust. A survey adopting stratified proportional sampling has been conducted to gather the responses from a sample of 394 junior-high-teachers from Yunlin County, Chiayi County, and Nantou City in Taiwan. Data are analyzed by using statistical methods, such as descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and moderated regression analysis to examine whether the hypotheses are supported. Research findings include: (1) there are significant positive correlations among principals' authentic leadership, teachers' trust and teachers' organizational citizenship behavior; (2) the “trust in supervisor" aspect of teachers' trust positively moderates the relationship between principals' authentic leadership and teachers' organizational citizenship behavior. Based on the above findings, three suggestions are put forth: (1) school leaders should be chosen prudently; (2)an authentic atmosphere should be created in schools; (3) a teacher should hold a professional enthusiastic attitude towards work.
