- Abstract
In this issue of the Journal of Individual Psychology, the topic of group analysis is addressed. It is pointed out that a therapeutic group functions similarly to a school of fish, where each member contributes an individual movement and pattern to the overall picture. The role of the therapist in the group is examined, as well as the challenges and potentials of groups in the analytical environment. Ethical considerations are made and the use of the parent-child metaphor in psychodynamic institutes is illuminated. The article discusses the use of the family metaphor in relation to training and education institutes and emphasizes the need not to overlook the real aspects of organizational structure and dynamics. It also addresses the challenges and conflicts that arise when younger generations strive for more participation and involvement. A respectful and constructive dialogue between generations is seen as crucial. The article also mentions the introduction of the "Open Space" method at an annual conference and emphasizes the importance of comprehensive networking within the DGIP. Finally, considerations are presented regarding the development of a traumatized child's capacity for symbolization in child therapy.
