- Abstract
The article examines the issues involved in the restoration of Georgetown as it affects the black population. Analysis of the politics and economics involved in the displacement of black residents in Georgetown is offered. The right to refuse to vacate, home loan financing available to blacks, and nonviolent protest are some actions suggested for the black community to take up in order to hold on to their Georgetown residences. Also tackled are the increasing power of black voters and the decentralization of municipal functions.
