- Abstract
The article focuses on the social, political and cultural aspects of the integration of immigrants in the U.S. It discusses various social problems that immigrants may create including the poverty, crime and health, and the burden they may put on the government by requiring greater public expense than other Americans. It also discusses the political behavior of immigrant groups, how the presence of immigrant groups affects the development of a foreign policy, and their impact on American culture. It mentions the role of immigrants in changing the country radically and transforming cities and countrysides, and presents views of writers such as Randolph Bourne on the impact of immigrants on American culture.
