- Abstract
The article focuses on the reasons why expert testimony on different subjects differ widely. It states that a witness is described in the law as an expert because of his special knowledge and experience. It states that the opinion of the expert witness is not only based on the facts but also on his knowledge and experience. It states that the expert witnesses interpret real circumstantial evidence in civil and criminal procedures to make sense of why a crime or an incident occurred. It states that sometimes different experts might interpret different theories which is the reason that expert testimony differ and, hence can change the final verdict or judgment.
