- Title
THE BUSINESS OF MIGRATORY DIVORCE IN NEVADA.
- Authors
INGRAM, FRANK W.; BALLARD, G. A.
- Abstract
The article discusses the prevailing business of migratory divorce in the U.S. state of Nevada. The state has much larger proportion of men than women, according to the 1930 census and the statutes of Nevada Territory relative to divorce have received no legislative attention since 1861. The state only requires a short period of residence before allowing a married couple to separate. Hence, divorce traffic has grown in the state to a profitable business for the lawyers, tradesmen, hoteliers, and other people of Nevada.
