This article is a review of an edited volume that examines the political thought of Nicholas Rengger, a professor of International Relations at the University of St Andrews. The book explores Rengger's engagement with the philosophy of Michael Oakeshott and his unique perspective on world politics. The review highlights the strengths and weaknesses of Rengger's approach, including his eclectic references and his critique of international anarchy as a contingent circumstance. The review also discusses the contributions of other authors in the volume, as well as criticisms of Rengger's views. Overall, the review suggests that the book provides valuable insights into Rengger's thinking and offers a fresh perspective on international relations.
