- Abstract
The article discusses the issue concerning the violation of the Canadian and U.S. governments to the U.N. Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CAT). It reveals that the provision of incorrect information by Canadian officials to the U.S. concerning Maher Arar, which resulted to his rendition in Syria is a breach of the countries' obligations under CAT. It reveals that the actions of both countries may subject them to civil litigation.
