- Abstract
The article discusses a study on myocardial susceptibility to repetitive ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) with high-fat diet-induced obesity. Subjecting a normal heart to brief/sublethal repetitive I/R activates adaptive responses to preserve cardiac structure and function. It details an experiment conducted to determine whether dysregulation of adaptive responses in diet-induced obese (DIO) mice would contribute to enhanced myocardial injury.
