Preparing for restoration success: Are we ready?
- Authors
McDonald, Tein
- Abstract
The author reflects on various approaches to restoration, which can sometimes be scaled up for greater effect at a landscape level, the constant hope of restorationists. While most of our cleared agricultural landscapes are far from exhibiting signs of recovery, there are promising long-term shifts towards reintegration of habitats occurring in some areas. Furthermore, while our generation may see the first signs of success, particularly at site level, substantial restoration is an intergenerational commitment.
