- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. restaurant industry, its place in the U.S. economy, and the strategies that company executives take to grow restaurant business. The article gives statistics pertaining to the 2003-2004 U.S. restaurant industry. The article presents insights from three executives in three different restaurant categories: Kerrii B. Anderson, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Wendy's International, Inc., David Doyle, senior vice president and controller of Brinker International Inc., and Thomas J. Baldwin, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Morton's Restaurant Group Inc. Anderson, Doyle, and Baldwin offer insights into how they run their companies and why they are successful enterprises.
