- Title
Electronic Mail Gets a Push.
- Abstract
The article refers to the anthrax scare of 2001 and mentions a survey by Strategy Analytics which forecasts a shift from paper mail to electronic mail. The high-technology consulting and marketing research firm says that the Internet supports information-based, reduces costs and data entry errors, and saves time. Two aspects of electronic mail that some companies might consider obstacles are the "wet-ink signature" in electronic documents and the complexity of sending supporting data for transactions such as mortgages. Gartner Group and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office are encouraging clients use fax or facsimile transmission.
