The new genus, Parathylacorhynchus (family Schizorhynchidae), is characterized by broad, thin, strongly folded proboscis halves and by paired testes posterior to the pharynx. The interstitial P. reidi sp.n. is distinguished by three bands of holdfasts, a single genital opening, a dorsally muscularized and ventrally unmuscularized posterior region of the prostatic bulb, a sharp curved stylet, and paired spermatic ducts.
