- Abstract
An essay is presented on two anti-heroes Meursault of the novel "The Stranger," by Albert Camus and Binx Bolling of the novel "The Moviegoer," by Walker Percy who were considered as literary archetypes who against the literary essays of Thomas Merton. Topics discussed include writing of Merton which relates to the importance of literary imagination, the importance of imagination for spiritual life of monks, and the literary period of Merton where he experienced a fruitful literary period.
