- Abstract
The article presents a study on the impacts of El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) on the off-season maize growth in Saã Paulo, Brazil. The study used crop simulation model in evaluating the effect of varying weather condition on the maize production. The results show that the delay in planting starting February 1 to April 15 resulted to decrease in simulated yield of 48%. It adds that the decrease in yield is due to weather conditions such as decrease in solar radiation.
