- Abstract
This article examines the monitoring of prison law in Germany. It discusses the legal position of prisoners and their possibilities of complaints as a form of prison control, a history of prison legislation in the country, historical aspects of complaints procedures in the 1977 Prison Act, particularities of complaints procedures for offenders in youth prisons, and the role of the Federal Constitutional Court in the efficiency of individual complaints procedures.
