- Authors
Samet, Nili
- Abstract
The article discusses two parallels found in Sumerian literature and its association to Isaiah 55,10-11 which compares the word of the Lord and precipitation. It says that the first Sumerian parallel occurs in line 409 of "Lamentation over the Destruction of Ur" wherein the incantation-like curse reflects a mythological concept of the evil storm-day. It mentions that the second parallel can be found in the "Death of Ur-Namma" which shows the down-pouring rain as imagery.
