- Abstract
The article focuses on the efforts made by the Network for Research and Training in Tropical Disease in Central America (NeTropica) to promote tropical disease research. It offers information on the historical background of Central America in the year 1980 and discusses the introduction of bilateral graduate program which is aimed to address scientific problems related to the field of tropical diseases. The goal of NeTropica to build scientific capacity towards the prevention and cure of such diseases is said to contribute much to the improvement of health and science in Central America.
