This essay examines narrative paradigms in German composer Richard Wagner's opera "Parsifal." It explores the density of unseen events in the opera where Wagner showed an interest in the musical possibilities of unseen narrative. It also discusses the difference between fabula and sjuzhet, which were created by Soviet critic Viktor Shklovsky and Soviet formalist scholar Vladimir Propp.
