- Abstract
A morphism f: M → N of left R-modules is said to be a twist morphism if the induced morphism Ext¹R(F, f): Ext¹R(F,M) → Ext¹R(F,N) is 0 for every flat left R-module F. We prove that f: M → N is a twist morphism if and only if Ext¹R(L, f): Ext¹R(L,M) → Ext¹R(L,N) takes values in the subgroup consisting of flat-pure exact sequences for any left R-module L if and only if f factors through a cotorsion left R-module. Some applications are given.
