- Abstract
The article focuses on the establishment of extinction dates of the curious case of the Dodo Raphus cucullatus and the Red Hen Aphanapteryx bonasia. Dodo was extinct in the 1940's on the mainland and then finally extinct in the 1662. On the other hand, the Red Hen survived from 1980's but disappeared in 1963. The committee already has good accounts of Red Hens during 1668 and 1673-1675. The estimation of animals extinction is normally based on the last date they are observed. It is by this time the only one flightless bird was present in local parlance but has been likely the Red Hen than the Dodo.
