The article discusses the comparison between commonwealth countries India and Bangladesh on abolition of mandatory death penalty. Topics discussed include the Indian Supreme court case Mithu v. State of Punjab on death penalty, judgement of death penalties in cases of caste violence and drug trafficking in India and dowry murder and rape-murder in Bangladesh, and closure of judicial sentencing on capital cases by the countries.
