- Abstract
The article presents the life and works of Laura Rapaport Borsten. She was among the first member of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES), Women's Reserve of the Navy, and she served as the Lieutenant Commander. She was born in McIntosh County, North Dakota and she graduated from the University of Minnesota with honors in library science. It provides details on her admission at WAVES. She married Orin Borsten and ran the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association of Visually Handicapped. She died on August 11, 2003.
