- Title
A Preface to the Study of Jewish Nationalism.
- Authors
Cohen, Mitchell
- Abstract
The article presents a comparative approach to the study of Jewish nationalism. Jewish nationalism takes place with the historical context of Jewish peoplehood which concerns a broad scope of material to be mastered including languages of antiquity, and literature ranging from the Bible to Josephus to the Talmud to Maimonides to the Zohar to Zionism. A comparative approach provides an argument to be made in comparing Jewish nationalism to other forms of nationalism and useful negative checks concerning the Jewish political tradition.
