- Title
Support the Section's Public Service Efforts with a Contribution to the TAPS Endowment.
- Abstract
The article discusses the Tax Assistance Public Service (TAPS) endowment fund, which provides funding for tax-related public service programs. The fund primarily supports the Christine A. Brunswick Public Service Fellowship program, which offers two-year fellowships for recent law school graduates to work for non-profit organizations that provide tax-related legal assistance to underserved communities. The fellows have achieved impressive results and many have gone on to secure positions in the field of low-income tax assistance, while others have clerked for judges of the U.S. Tax Court. The program has been successful in serving taxpayers, making systemic change in local communities, and providing career opportunities in low-income tax services. The article encourages readers to contribute to the TAPS endowment fund to support the Section's mission of providing legal assistance to those in need.
