- Title
COMMENTARY ON "EXPRESSED EMOTION IN DEPRESSED PATIENTS AND THEIR PARTNERS.".
- Authors
Goldstein, Michael J.
- Abstract
The author reflects on an article about expressed emotion in depressed patients and their partners. He says that the significance of the construct "expressed emotion" may be influenced by its alliterative nature. He claims that in his opinion, being defined mostly by criteria developed from empirical findings is both the construct's weakness and strength. He argues that the relationship found between expressed emotion status and the patient self-ratings of depression needs further study.
