- Abstract
The author discusses research published within the issue on the relationship between artificial sweeteners and glucose intolerance and the dietary patterns of artificial sweetener consumption in healthy adults. Topics covered include the relationships between levels of sucrose, fructose and aspartame consumption with respect to markers of glucose intolerance including fasting glucose. Data indicate that individuals consuming aspartame consume less natural sugars.
